Certain scientists better watch out. There may be many women anxious to give them a big kiss! Fortunately, thanks to these researchers' own efforts, if any of those smooches actually materialize, they aren't going to leave a stain. That's because the scientists have come up with a new way to make long-wearing, non-smearing lipstick, without silicone.

Considered the most comfortable non-drying entry into the world of long-lasting lipstick, the new cosmetic features a breakthrough of higher pigment levels paired with special waxes, resulting in transfer-resistant, comfortable color with significantly more lasting power. In contrast, lipsticks containing silicone can be drying. As silicone evaporates, it bonds to the lips, depositing color as it drys but making the lips feel uncomfortable. This process can also leave a cakey look and lead to lip color bleeding into fine lines around the mouth.

The new lipstick, however, is the first to feature a rebalancing among traditional pigments, emollients and waxes to deliver a chic, long-lasting semi-matte look. It can last all day and many wearers say the longer you wear it, the better it feels.

Called Wear Ever Lasting LipColor from Prestige, it's available at local drug and mass market stores for under $5. It comes in 16 shades including: Linen, Cocoa Buff, Cafe Latte, Acorn, Cameo, Rose Berry, Mirage, Poppy, Henna, Pinot Noir, Beaujolais, Raisin, Chianti, Cabernet, Brownstone and Black Plum.(NAPSI)
